The IBSS aims to promote the hobby of collecting bonds and shares and to provide services for its members. Therefore certain activities have been set up:

♦ IBSS meetings around international auctions (see Event calendar)
♦ IBSS bourses (usually held on the Saturday after the Spink summer auction in London)
♦ Local groups (presently in Berlin and London)
♦ IBSS auctions (exclusively for members, held three times in a year)
